KANE: TOUGH BUT WE'RE STILL POINT CLOSER

HARRY KANE tried to take some tiny positives out of their Scotland letdown.

The England skipper was dejected after his team failed to overcome the examination posed by Steve Clarke’s troops.

Kane’s team were booed from the pitch after the goalless draw and he made no attempt to disguise the fact they had been halted in their tracks.

The England captain, who also suffered the nightmare of being hauled off, said: “Fair result, fair play to Scotland, they defended well.

“It wasn’t our best performance but it’s another point closer to qualification and that’s our ultimate goal.

“It was a tough game. Scotland made good blocks at the right times.
