Fuel prices at all-time high

PETROL prices hit a record high over the weekend adding to the cost of living crisis.

Figures from motoring group the AA showed the nationwide average reached 142.94p a litre on Sunday passing the previous all-time high of 142.48p set nine years ago.

The price has jumped from 106.48p in May last year.

The surge is equivalent to an extra £20 every time a driver fills their tank.
