Family escape blaze after ‘towels burst into flames'

A MUM has told how she screamed at her children to get out of their family home after a bag of towels burst into flames.

Shocked Laura Nani rushed three of her kids from their house in Stewarton, Ayrshire in the early hours of Monday morning and even burned her feet returning to the inferno to make sure her pets were also safe from the flames.

The 40-year-old spoke of her astonishment after discovering that the upstairs of her house was completely destroyed because towels had “spontaneously combusted”.

At about 6 am, Laura detected a strong burning smell. She actually thought a neighbour’s house was on fire and dashed out of her home in her socks to see what was going on.
