Cops want to question gangland boss over daughter's partner shooting

POLICE investigating a street shooting want to speak to a feared gangland boss.

Detectives want to track down David “Mincey" McKenzie following the attack on Brian McIlear outside his home.

McIlear, 31, is the former partner of McKenzie's daughter Emma, 29. They separated last year, sources have said.

Scaffolder Mcllear was shot in Barony Drive in Glasgow's Baillieston just after midnight on Saturday.

He frantically chapped his neighbours, begging them to call police. Scene photos show a parked car smeared with blood.

McKenzie was linked to the murder of George Redmond, who was shot dead outside a pub in 2008. No one has been convicted of his murder.

McKenzie was jailed for six years and eight months in 2013 for his role in attempting to transport cocaine worth £lmillion. Police bugged his Mercedes and Mazda cars and recorded him discussing drug deals.
