Emma smashes her way into semis without losing a set as Tokyo gold medallist latest to be stunned

EMMA RADUCANU ripped up the record books and wrote another chapter in her Fairytale of New York yesterday as Britain’s newest sporting sensation smashed her way to the US Open semi final.

The 18-year-old qualifier got rid of Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last four without dropping a set.

Raducanu has put in the overtime – it usually takes seven matches to win a Grand Slam but in this crazy US Open, she had already played that number before walking onto Ashe yesterday.
