BORIS Johnson’s vision of a green industrial revolution has been branded a “fantasy” that will do little to save the environment.

The Prime Minister brought forward the unveiling of his 10-point plan in a desperate attempt to boost his profile after a disastrous couple of weeks.

It pledges to ban sales of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030.

But environment campaigners claimed Johnson’s blueprint leans too heavily on nuclear power and hydrogen gas created by burning fossil fuels.

And they accused him of fattening up his big reveal with rehashed funding pledges.

Friends of the Earth Scotland director Dr Richard Dixon said: “In this climate emergency, what we needed was investment in measures that would reduce emissions drastically over the next decade and create green jobs immediately.
