ANDREW QUITS HOME OF GOLF

PRINCE Andrew has given up his honorary membership at the prestigious home of golf as the fallout from his civil sex case continues.

The Duke of York will no longer walk the fairways at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in Fife, the club has confirmed.

Giving up his membership will be a humiliation for the duke who is a passionate golf fan, meeting many of the top names in the sport over the years.

The development comes after Andrew demanded a trial by jury in the civil sexual assault case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre.

Giuffre claims she was forced to have sex with the duke on three occasiions in 2001 when she was 17-years-old and being trafficked around the world by Andrew's late paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein and his lover Ghislaine Maxwell.

St Andrew's is the first of the Duke of York's associations to part company with him since a New York judge a this month ordered Andrew to face a civil trial against Giuffre in the autumn.
