Wonky donkey given a leg up

A DONKEY that could barely walk has been given a new lease of life thanks to a prosthetic leg, the first of its kind.

Nine-year-old Tommy was born with one front leg weaker than the other, leaving the healthy limb to take the strain. The wonky animal's hobbling left him in agony with long-lasting damage to his spine, back and shoulder.

There were fears Tommy would have to be put to sleep.
