Teachers praised for taking down college gunman

TWO hero teachers who tackled a masked gunman at a college as terrified students looked on have been praised for their “incredible” heroics by their principal.

A witness saw the attacker, who was also armed with a knife, fire at 51-year-old Steve Hopkins as the teacher urged his students to flee.

But the bullet was a blank and Mr Hopkins escaped, shocked, but with only minor injuries after the attack at Crawley College, on Monday.
