Steel industry 'astonished by Government's complacency'

LABOUR leader Keir Starmer warned yesterday steelworkers are astonished at government "complacency" as the energy price crisis bites heavy industry.

During a visit to Outokumpu Stainless in Sheffield, Mr Starmer told the Mirror: "The number one issue is the cost of energy going through the roof.

"The potential impact that may have on the steel sector is absolutely number one in their minds. Like us, they are astonished the Government is standing complacently by.
