Swimmers were forced to evacuate a Dorset beach yesterday after reports of a shark in the water.
In scenes reminiscent of the movie Jaws, bathers were told to get out of the water after a possible sighting off Boscombe beach in Bournemouth.
RNLI lifeguards put up red flags, the signal to warn swimmers of a serious hazard in the water at around 1pm.
They put out an announcement over the Tannoy telling people to get out of the water due to “large marine wildlife”.
