A Second World War veteran has received her medals, more than 75 years after earning them.
Sylvia Dyde, who is known by her middle name Jacqueline, was awarded the Defence Medal and the War Medal for her years in the Women’s Royal Naval Service.
Due to a mix of modesty and concern over their likely cost she never claimed them.
