Ronaldo fights to keep Vegas rape claim filés secret

CRISTIANO Ronaldo's legal team have made a lastditch bid to stop the release of files on his alleged rape in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Police have "determined” to release the papers that include details on the crime report, statements and warrants.

The Manchester United star, 36, has been accused of raping model Kathryn Mayorga in a penthouse suite 12 years ago.

He has emphatically denied the 37-year-old's claims.

Ronaldo's lawyers have filed a “motion for protective order” to keep the documents sealed and stop police from handing them to the New York Times.

They claim the 400 papers are privileged and contain "libellous” statements.
