Last-Minute Bookings Surging Due To Traffic Lights Confusion

MORE holidaymakers than ever are waiting until the last minute to book their summer breaks, travel agents claim.

Uncertainty over the Government’s traffic light system has turned booking patterns upside down, with Thomas Cook saying a third of bookings are within two weeks of travelling.

David Cook, who works for the online travel agent, said: “Right now you wouldn’t normally be taking last-minute bookings because most accommodation would be gone.”
