A BRITISH Gas engineer who starred in a recruitment advert for the firm has been axed under its “fire and rehire” plan.
Holly Mailey started out as an apprentice and gave the company 12 years of loyal service.
But the mum of three has lost her job after refusing to sign a new contract that would cut her pay and end flexible hours.
Holly, 33, spoke out after the Mirror yesterday told of the fury of up to 500 engineers sacked by British Gas for rejecting the new deals.
She said: “I was so proud to wear the British Gas uniform and I have always loved my job.
“But the last few weeks have been hell. I have been crying a lot.
“The whole thing has been a total rollercoaster.
