Accused ‘secretly took out £3.5m life policies’

A PROPERTY developer accused of murdering his wife joined a group he called “ Tinder for widows” just days after her death, a trial heard.

Donald McPherson, 47, denies killing his wife Paula Leeson, also 47, who drowned in a swimming pool while they were on holiday in Denmark.

A court heard he secretly took out seven insurance policies on his wife’s life, worth up to £3.5million.

It was also told he began seeing another woman four months after becoming a widow and did not visit his wife’s grave for months following her funeral.
