Hubby Wants To Stop Trying For Babies After We Lost Four

Dear Coleen

I’m 40 and I’ve had four miscarriages in the last three years. My husband and I have been together 10 years and even from early on in our relationship we spoke about how much we wanted a big family.

We both come from families of four children and wanted to recreate that for ourselves.

But after our last miscarriage, which was just after Christmas, my husband said he wanted to stop trying for the foreseeable future. He says we have to stop putting ourselves through all the loss and disappointment.

After my last miscarriage I wanted to go down the IVF route and perhaps even start the adoption process. But my husband seems to have completely shut down the idea of children.
