Dear Coleen

My partner left me a couple of weeks before Christmas after we had spent six years together.

I didn't see it coming at all – it was completely out of the blue - and he didn't even offer a proper explanation about why he had ended it, mumbling stuff like "we've run our course” and "the love has gone”.

All news to me. We were living together in my place with my teenage son, who's also upset and confused.

My ex has moved back to his flat, which he kept after moving in with me, and I've now discovered through a friend that he's with someone else.
