Kate’s joy over husband’s return

KATE Garraway has told how husband Derek Draper burst into tears when he arrived home after over a year in hospital.

Derek, 53, who still needs 24-hour care, was admitted with Covid in March last year and placed in an induced coma.

Kate told ITV’s Good Morning Britain of the decision to bring him home. She said: “It felt as if everything had stalled medically and, if anything, was going slightly back.”

The presenter, 53, said doctors decided to send Derek home and see whether being in the family environment helped.
