Crackdown On Protests Thrown Out
Boris Johnson has suffered 14 Lords defeats to his autocratic curbing of the right to protest.

In the latest mauling of the Police, Crime, Courts and Sentencing Bill, the Lords rejected new crimes of locking oneself to railings or obstructing roads - which would have carried six months' jail.

They also defeated new powers to stop and search protesters without suspicion, or impose “prevention orders on known activists even if they've not committed a crime.
