In the frightening scale of its devastation, the global spread of Covid-19 has been the worst catastrophe of modern times. With the pandemic still raging across the planet, more than 3.5 million people have lost their lives. Economies have been wrecked, freedoms destroyed, societies fractured, livelihoods ruined.

Yet even now, in the face of this unprecedented disaster, there is still no convincing official explanation about the origins of the disease. This mystery reflects the extent of a sinister cover-up by the Chinese authorities, who fiercely deny the credible theory that the outbreak came from a leak from the laboratory at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where advanced research has been conducted into coronaviruses derived from bats.

Desperate to crush any notion of the Institute’s culpability, the Chinese regime has claimed the disease was transferred to humans from animals bought in Wuhan’s so-called “wet” markets.

But this dubious theory is beginning to unravel, as the evidence mounts that an escape from the Wuhan laboratory was the cause. Only last week, President Joe Biden ordered a new investigation by US intelligence, following a damning report that three workers at the Wuhan Institute had fallen ill with Covid-like symptoms as early as November 2019.
