A Promise from Boris Johnson to address injustices suffered by gay military personnel does not go far enough, say campaigners.
The PM says those denied medals because of their sexuality suffered a historic wrong which will be addressed by the Ministry of Defence.
But many also suffered a loss or reduction in their pension.
As many as 250 homosexuals were thrown out of the military every year until rules were changed in 2000 to allow lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people to join.
Mr. Johnson said: “Those who serve in our Armed Forces deserve every recognition for their service.
