Labour would damage Britain's economy by opening up a £90billion blackhole in public finances to meet all of its pledges, research suggests.

The party's spending spree would mean either an extra £3,303 per household in general taxation or doubling borrowing, the Conservative study found.

Sir Keir Starmer's party have made a raft of promises worth around £100billion but have only outlined £7.5billion in revenue to pay for it, Tories said.

Simon Clarke, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, said: "This new dossier shows in black and white how the Labour party would wreak havoc on the economy.

"Their irresponsible, unfunded spending commitments would leave a £90billion black hole in the public finances, doubling borrowing to one of the highest levels in peacetime, and causing inflation to spiral."
