ENGLAND'S ability to find new ways of succumbing to the Australians knows no bounds as was epitomised by their most senior trio on Boxing Day.

Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, driving forces behind the 'open and honest chat in the dressing room after the second-Test defeat in Adelaide, were the three most guilty parties as England were stuffed out of sight at the MCG.

All three gifted their wickets as Root's men were skittled out for 185.

But it was Buttler's dismissal that summed up just how scrambled, fragile and broken this team is right now.

He dropped anchor for fourand-a-half hours in Adelaide and knew what it took to keep the Aussies at bay.
