WALES will have to keep their fingers crossed that new captain Dan Biggar comes through tomorrow’s duties with Northampton intact.
But his club hinted that they will be flexible with his workload during the Six Nations.
The 32-year-old will lead his country out for the first time in the championship opener in Ireland next week – if he comes through tomorrow’s Premiership game against Worcester unscathed. The club versus country issue is one Biggar knew he was signing up for when he left the Ospreys to move to England in 2018 and one he has dealt with before, but he is an even more valuable cargo after his promotion.
Northampton, while within their rights to pick their principal playmaker when he is available, are sympathetic to his situation.
