PM Urged MP ‘Sacked Over Muslimness' To Complain

AN MP who claims she was sacked over her “Muslimness” was urged by Boris Johnson to make a formal complaint... but failed to do so.

Tory MP Nusrat Ghani lost her job as a transport minister in a reshuffle two years ago.

She said a government whip told her that her faith was raised as an issue at a Downing Street meeting on the shake-up.

Mr Johnson met Ms Ghani on July 1, 2020 and wrote to her nine days later suggesting she make a formal complaint.

Concern

A No 10 spokesman said: “After being made aware of these extremely serious claims, the Prime Minister met with Nusrat Ghani to discuss them.

“He then wrote to her expressing his serious concern and inviting her to begin a formal complaint process. She did not subsequently do so.
