The Queen has taken part in her first official video conference call as part of her public role.
The historic moment came last week when the 94-year-old and Princess Anne spoke by video link to four carers and Gareth Howells, the chief executive of Carers Trust.
Buckingham Palace waited until yesterday to reveal her use of the technology to mark Carers Week.
In line with the normal etiquette of royal visits, the monarch was the last to join and the first to leave the engagement.
“Interesting listening to all your tales and stories,” she told them, from the Oak Room at Windsor Castle. I’m very impressed by what you have achieved already.
“I’m very glad to have been able to join you today.”
