WOMEN should be put in charge of the world's money, TV historian Lucy Worsley has declared.

The BBC presenter made the claim when she was asked by Good Housekeeping about the changes in women's lives over the last century, to celebrate the magazine's 100th anniversary.

She said: "I would actually put women in charge of the world's money. I think we'd see very different spending priorities, such as less on war, more on education."

Author Lucy, who dresses in period costume for her shows and became a flapper for the magazine, is chief curator at Historic Royal Palaces.
