The funeral of Dennis Hutchings, 80, is to be held on November 11 – Armistice Day.
A huge turnout is expected at the service at St Andrew’s Church in Plymouth, not far from his home in Cawsand, Cornwall.
The timing of the funeral will maximise the embarrassment for the Government, which has failed to honour a pledge to stop Northern Ireland veterans being dragged through the courts.
