The happy new year beginning for the X Factor host and his ex-personal assistant was revealed by a spokesman who said the proposal was “at home in a very romantic setting”.
Ant, 45, and Anne-Marie, 43, have been together since 2018 after his split from wife Lisa Armstrong. He called her his “rock” after she supported him following his drink-driving conviction and stint in rehab.
Many celebrities were happy to get out of the old year too. Hollywood star Dame Joan Collins, 87, did not mince her words, saying: “Wishing everyone the most wonderful next year #happy new year #f***2020.”
Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 41, admitted it was a “bit weird” to be saying “happy” at the moment, but looked forward to singing live again this year.
