The top-flight season begins on August 21 with newly-relegated clubs Grimsby Town and Southend United the only changes to the constitution.
Three teams will be relegated with only two promoted – one automatically and one through the six-team playoff structure.
Notts County, Stockport County, Chesterfield and Wrexham are expected to be challenging at the top while a host of others will be gunning for a top-seven finish.
Suggestions that the pandemic would re-align the finances of clubs appear to be wide of the mark in the view of Wild.
“You wouldn’t believe there’s been a pandemic,” he told The NLP. “The amount of money clubs are throwing around in our league is absolutely scandalous.

“There’s probably more money flying around our league than the league above. They’re all desperate to get out of it so they’re all throwing everything they can at it.
“For us, we don’t spend as much as everybody else so our football offer has to be bang on to keep up.
