ON THE night when Jake Robinson became Billericay Town’s second highest goalscorer of all-time, his brother made sure to take some of the limelight away again!
The renowned goalscorer netted a hat-trick on Tuesday in their 4-1 win at Hemel Hempstead to take his tally to 115 in 150 appearances for the club and leapfrog Leon Gutzmore.
It was his 12th hat-trick for Ricay meaning he is now only three trebles behind the hat-trick record of Fred Clayden, who is also the club’s top scorer with 260.
But while Robinson was rightly receiving the plaudits for his achievement, little did he know that his brother Lee had also scored a hat-trick on the same night in a 4-1 away win for Newhaven.

“He’s got a habit of doing this!” laughed Jake, whose 57 goals in the 2017-18 season broke Gutzmore’s club record of 51 in a single campaign yet younger brother Lee, 31, outdid him netting 58 that year.
