After joining the famous FA Cup giant-killers in 2005, Dale went on to score 212 goals in a club-record 680 appearances and forged a reputation as one of the NonLeague game’s most talented players.
The mercurial winger claimed two Northern Premier League titles and two Northumberland Senior Cups, as well as helping Spartans to the FA Cup third round on two occasions.
The 37-year-old was also named second in the Northern Premier League’s greatest players of all time – with only Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy keeping him off top spot.
However, with Covid-19 and work commitments hampering the tail end of his career, Dale announced his retirement on the eve of last season.
