Goalkeeper Jake Weaver saved twice in a penalty shoot-out against the 2013 Trophy winners to book a place in the fourth round where they will play league rivals Kettering Town.
It was one of the finest days in club history and boss Holleran, who saw his side extend their unbeaten run to 11 games in the process, says it encapsulated the spirit they have in the dressing room.
“It was the icing on the cake in terms of the last couple of months,” Holleran, who praised the National League and clubs for their handling of the current season, told The NLP.
“We’ve shown all kinds of ingredients. We’ve had to be resilient and robust, we’ve been very good in periods and scored good goals, we’ve been backs to the walls and hung in there.
“Wrexham is a fantastic place to go. You’re just gutted there was no one there because there is just something about that place – the middle of the town, so vibrant, its history, I’m not sure there’s a better place to go in NonLeague.
