STANLEY WILL BE EAGER TO RUIN POMPEY PARTY-LEE

EXPERIENCED defender Lee Brown has warned his Portsmouth teammates not to underestimate Accrington Stanley this afternoon as they bid to wrap up a play-off place.

Sixth-placed Pompey are in pole position to bag the final spot and know that victory at Fratton Park will guarantee their season continues. But a slip-up could allow Oxford or Charlton to steal in.

Portsmouth drew 3-3 in a thriller at Accrington just under two weeks ago and will fancy their chances of beating them on home turf. But even though there is nothing on the line for the 13thplaced visitors, Brown is wary.

Calm

“One thing’s for sure, they will want to come and ruin the party – 100 per cent,” the former Bristol Rovers left-back told The FLP. “If the shoe was on the other foot, I would want to ruin it for them – it’s a natural thing to do.

“We have to overcome that and we know what we need to do – we need to win the game. We will go through a tactical plan and us players need to try to stay calm. You can easily build up too early and get burned out by kick-off.
