Moore, 46, had taken just one point from four matches since joining from Doncaster Rovers, and relegation from the Championship looked increasingly like a formality.
But a tactical switch and a tigerish display saw the Owls comprehensively outplay their South Yorkshire rivals, with £10m-man Rhodes taking his tally to three goals in as many games.
“What’s gone on before I was at the club has gone on,” said Moore, whose side moved to within six points of safety with nine fixtures to play.
“I can’t change that. But what I’ve said from the moment I arrived is that it’s a clean slate for everyone and we’ll work to get better.
“And I have to say that, from day one, I’ve got no complaints about the players. If they keep giving us that and keep improving, and keep showing the will to win, I’m happy.
