JAMES EYES TRIPLE CROWN

REECE James has already won promotion from League One twice – and he doesn’t see any reason why Doncaster can’t give him a shout of completing a hat-trick.

The left-back, who can also operate in midfield, went up with Wigan in 2016 and 2018, though never got the chance to show what he could do in the second tier. Injury proved his nemesis the first time around and he was released by the Latics after the second triumph.

It means James, who turned 27 last Saturday, is itching to get back to the Championship and show what he can do. His previous experience at that level came on loan at Rotherham and Huddersfield in his Manchester United days.

While Rovers may not be the favourites for promotion, Darren Moore’s men play a stylish brand of football and were ninth, just four points off the play-off places, heading into the weekend.
