At a time when people are inclining more and more towards technology, the Lohit Youth Library Network is an unique initiative which has been making incessant efforts to revive and keep alive the joy of reading amidst the youths of Arunachal Pradesh.
There was a time when visiting the state libraries and saving money for the annual book fairs used to be a huge affair for many children and youths alike. The scent of the newly purchased books or stumbling upon the much searched book in the local library, used to send us in a frenzy of excitement. But with the gradual advent of technology there came a shift from books to playstations, internet etc and many kids started drifting away from the world of books. In such a time, a wonderful initiative by the Lohit Youth Library Movement came to the rescue.
The Lohit Youth Library Movement is an one of a kind initiative in Arunachal Pradesh in North-eastern Himalayan India, reaching out to readers across a span of 300 kms in the remote Lohit and Dibang Valley regions. The Movement has been going on ever since May 2007 and became a huge success later.
