A group of women from Assam is weaving some interesting tales by using fashion as a means to spread awareness.

What is fashion for you?

Is it a means to look good or to express yourself?

In a way both the answers are correct. But fashion is not limited to just that. It can go much beyond than just being an expression for one’s ideas and dreams.

Guided and led by the Green Warrior Purnima Devi Barman, her team of Hargilla Army has been weaving traditional Assamese Mekhela Chadars as well as traditional Assamese jewellery to spread awareness on the preservation of Greater Adjutant Stork.
