Multi-million euro investment taking shape but no public car parking will be an issue.
Letterkenny’s new multimillion euro courthouse is on course to be in use by the end of September, the Post can reveal.
The four-storey building, located on the site of the former leisure centre and swimming pool, is now really taking shape.
It will comprise four courtrooms, compared with just two in the existing courthouse on Justice Walsh Road.
Significantly, though, the new courthouse will also have extensive office space for the Courts Service and members of the legal profession as well as having enhanced facilities for the public.
“We are delighted to report there has been great the progress on Letterkenny’s new courthouse,” a spokesman for the Courts Service told the Post, adding: “We are aiming for the court to be operational by late September.”

Time For Toll Bridge In Letterkenny?
A new integrated transport hub for Letterkenny, with park and ride facilities, feeder bus services, quality bus corridors, cycle-ways, and better pedestrian linkages – these were just some of the measures identified back in 2009 to not only alleviate traffic problems in Letterkenny, but to also pave the way for a more sustainable traffic management system in Donegal’s biggest town.
