SAMEERA FERNANDES

Being an agriculturist and hailing from Mandya in Karnataka; the hub of a community of farmers, I have noticed that our farmers are well equipped with relevant information and insights on the best practices that have been passed on from generations. Backed with their passion and determination to do good to the community, they always excel at their work. The beautiful spirit of bonding keeps the farming community together always.

Q Does your background in hotel management help you in any regard?

When the customers are happy, the farmers usually benefit from the association. Being an active farmer myself, I have also been a hotelier from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Furthermore, with the three hotels I own, the Solitaire, a three-star hotel; Hotel Subhash and Hotel Sai Sagar, we always have our ears to the ground to understand the needs and expectations of our farmers.

Q The public knows you as a self-made man. What has inspired you towards growth and success?
