A LOCAL charity in Limavady, set up to promote suicide awareness and mental health are celebrating their one year anniversary.
A crowd of devoted members and volunteers of LIPS (Limavady Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide) gathered on Saturday evening to celebrate a successful year of hard work, dedication and endless fundraising.
The formal dinner dance took place at the Drummond Hotel, Ballykelly, in order to honour the groups achievements to date and of course pay homage to those bereaved by suicide.
Chairperson of LIPS, Willie Mulhern, praised the generosity of the community saying: “The support has been overwhelming within the community. The whole night went great. Everyone was relaxed and the atmosphere was fantastic. It brought people from all divides of the community together as it’s an issue that everyone in the room could relate to in some way.”
