Dallat Urges Council To Back Magilligan Ferry Service
County Derry Post|21 March 2017

EAST Derry MLA John Dallat has urged the Causeway Coast and Glens Council to back the Foyle Ferry Service which he says has the potential to fill many empty beds in hotels, guesthouses and B&B facilities on the Causeway Coast and generate much needed income for other outlets.

Dallat Urges Council To Back Magilligan Ferry Service

Speaking last night, the SDLP man said: “The Foyle Ferry Service, which operated between Magilligan and Greencastle is the key to ensuring international tourists travelling up the west coast continue their journey to the Giant’s Causeway and the other tourist attractions which have been swelling visitor numbers.

“After last year when the Ferry Service carried a remarkable number of cars and passengers in each direction it is clear that a modest subvention is needed, at least in the short term, to ensure viability. That can happen if Donegal County Council and Causeway Coast and Glens Council work together to ensure it is viable.
