A LOCAL MLA has demanded clarity on the reasons for the hold-up in repairing a bridge in County Derry which collapsed during heavy flooding more than six months ago.

To date no repair work has been carried out on the Glenrandal bridge, near Craigbane, which was severely damaged in August’s floods.
Last night, East Derry SDLP Assembly Member John Dallat who has been campaigning to have the bridge restored said he received two apparently conflicting letters from different government departments.
On February 3, Mr Dallat received a letter from the Department of Infrastructure citing difficulties reaching agreement with various government departments on a number of issues, including significant fisheries interests as the reason for the delay.
