Hit play on any track by Boston's Mint Green and you'll be greeted with pitch-perfect vocals and a sound that exudes confidence with every note, but when singer Ronnica first formed the band with drummer Daniel in 2015, finding their place proved challenging.
Tasked with slotting an eclectic sound into a scene that didn't often favour variance, as they joined forces with bassist Tiffany and guitarist Brandon, the four-piece came to define the power of being yourself.
"I wanted to fit in, but at the time the scene was very shoegaz-focused or going towards a beefy math-rock vibe. We were this weird in-between. I've never felt like I was hard enough for the scene," Ronnica confesses.
