Trump's Executive Orders That Won't Do Anything But Spark Class War

It’s hard to decide if Donald Trump is trying to ignite a class war or if his actions are just a by-product of his growing insanity and overriding stupidity.

It could be both—we can never completely write off that possibility.

On Saturday the septuagenarian president did his best to convince the country he was helping the economy, when he was really trying to lie, cheat and steal his way through another weekend in Bedminster, screwing the working class in the process.

Gathered for news conferences at his New Jersey golf club, his sycophants cheered him on and stridently booed a reporter who asked about wearing masks. Trump walked out of the late afternoon briefing when Paula Reid from CBS asked him about lying to the American people. His fans cheered.

The press conference came on the heels of Trump signing four executive measures relating to coronavirus relief. He had to take action, he told us, because Congress failed to act.

He wasn’t wrong about that. The Senate Republicans—led by Satan’s towel boy Mitch McConnell—have refused to take up legislation the House passed three months ago. The Republicans blame the Democrats, but what else can they do?

Trump hasn’t and apparently won’t talk to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, let alone anyone else in the Democratic Party, and the Republicans seem to think that giving an extra $600 a week to unemployed Americans will incentivize those workers not to work.

Meanwhile, Republicans don’t mind bailing out large corporations to the tune of billions of dollars. None of this is a surprise. None of it is unexpected.
