LIGHT AND LOOKING FOR A FIGHT

This is the car that’s currently sending the internet into a sideways slide. Nope, not a Bugatti or Koenigsegg, but rather a BMW M4 wearing some different paint and packing an uprated version of its turbocharged six-cylinder engine.

BMW has revived its CSL (competition sport lightweight) concept for the latest M4 and anticipation is boiling over. This comes from the fact that the CSL nomenclature has only adorned two BMWs before in the last five decades, and those cars have gone on to become highly sought-after and solid investments.

As to where this new package fits in the grand scheme of things, according to those who worked on the project, the M4 CSL is a closer comparison to the M4 GT3 race car than to the M4 Competition. At first, that sounds like the old cliched ‘race car for the road’ analogy but this car has already gone around the Nurburgring in 7 minutes, 20 seconds, earning it the title of fastest production BMW ever.
