Why did you originally decide to pursue a career in music? I grew up always loving to sing but I never seriously considered a career in music until I started writing songs at about sixteen years old. When I began writing songs it was like I had just discovered a dormant superpower. I had never really known how to express the deeper, more hidden parts of who I was but music was a medium that made that possible. Before I started writing and performing, I had always been pretty into sports as well but I put those all aside to solely focus on music. Music became an integral part of who I am and in many ways, I have no idea who I am without it. I don’t know how to express my feelings or work through emotions without music. I feel as if I was born to create and if I don’t create, I lose a part of who I am.

You have a boyfriend now, but how was dating like for you in a 'crazy' town like Hollywood before you settled down? In many ways, dating was fun in LA because there are so many different types of people you can meet but it can also be pretty tough! I’ve never been an incredibly casual dater. I either wanted to pursue something seriously or to completely ignore men and focus solely on myself and my career. I found myself with some great guys and some that were not so great. And while I don’t ever want to go through a breakup again, they sure did help me in writing my songs! I remember my first heartbreak and I cried my way through writing one of the most honest songs I have ever written. I feel like through each dating relationship, I learned a lot about myself and what I wanted. Now I can say, I’m the happiest I have ever been!
