Who can you trust more than anyone?! Hopefully, it’s your partner you are married to! And with trust and common goals comes a refreshing platform to create and run companies. And that is why countless couples during the pandemic have quit their jobs and teamed up with their loved ones to create businesses that are not only unique but make a lot of money.
Such is the case for Chuckie and Shelby Gregory, who started a company about fun morning cocktails to jump-start your day, and have scaled it into the millions TOGETHER!
So what tips do they have for other couples going into work together? We asked them!
Why should more husbands and wives (or partners in life) team up and create businesses together? For us, it is essential. When you start a brand like this you must go all in to have it be successful. And most entrepreneurs will tell you that it’s hard to think about anything else. So, with both of us in it and always on the same page it makes it much easier to talk about the brand and brainstorm. It makes entrepreneurship a lot less lonely and a lot more fun!
What do you do when you get on each other’s nerves? Who wins the fights usually? It doesn’t happen too often, but when we do get on each other’s nerves we usually take a small break from working to reset our minds and cool down. Going outside to relax for a minute or just hanging out and having a snack helps to take a mental break and realize it really wasn’t a big deal to begin with. I (Shelby) always win the fights! Just kidding. But really, we always try to come to a compromise, or we just say that was stupid to argue about and let it go as quickly as we can. We get the best out of our business when we work together, so being able to move on from an argument quickly is definitely key to staying productive.

Calling Out the Big C
Cancer – there, I said it. According to the most recent research reported in the British Journal of Cancer, over half of us under the age of sixty-five will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lifetime. If you manage to dodge this bullet there is a significant chance that you will know someone who has cancer, and that some may die from the disease. I meet both the former and latter criteria, witnessing both my wife and mother-in-law succumb to this bastard of an illness. Yet, even in the face of these daunting statistics, there are reasons to be cheerful since cancer survival rates in the UK have doubled over the last four decades, and around half of diagnosed patients survive for more than ten years.
