Country music star Eric Ethridge has seen his latest single “Sad Songs” being streamed millions of times, and while the pandemic has slowed down concerts/ tours, that hasn’t stopped Eric from creating new music. FHM sat down with the music man to learn more about the state of the industry today and his exclusive tips you can follow to break into the music scene too!
How does it feel to be a country superstar these days? Well, I don’t know if I am quite at the “superstar” level yet, but I really appreciate it! I am truly grateful that my music has reached more people than I ever thought possible.
Before hitting the stage, what is your routine like? There is so much that is going through my mind on show days, I’ve found the most important thing I can do is meditate, quiet my mind, and visualize the performance going well. Usually, I’ll be meditating up to an hour before showtime, and then as we’re getting ready to go on stage my band and I have a chant that we say. On 3 we say, “Right notes, right time”. It’s sort of a joke so we don’t take ourselves too seriously when we’re nervous, but also when you really break it down that’s all your job is, hit the right notes at the right time – Execution is key.
